Tofu Patties

It’s always best to have a recipe turn out in just the way you imagined it in your head. Well, and that is just what happened with these patties. They are perfectly soft, moist, and crisp on the outside. Additionally they are incredibly fool proof! The tofu is crumbled into tiny pieces, then you throw in vegetables and spices and voilà, there you have either the ideal lunch, dinner or even snack!

Tofu Patties Ingredients

  • Firm Tofu - Obviously, tofu is the ingredient for this particular recipe! Crumble it up and you will get a nice, soft texture.

  • Oat Flour - We made our own oat flour by simply grinding rolled oats but feel free to do as you prefer.

  • Vegetables - Carrots and fresh coriander are the vegetables you will need for this recipe. However, alternatively you could use parsley instead of coriander if you are on the I-hate-coriander side;)

  • Soy Sauce - Since this recipe calls for soy sauce you will definitely not need extra salt.

  • Cayenne Pepper - This ingredient is optional and you decide whether or not you want a little heat.

Tofu Patties Tips

  • Chopping - Chopping your vegetables, ginger, garlic, etc. is necessary as you will only use your hands to achieve the texture.

  • Mix/Knead with your hands - You will need to be kneading or combining every ingredient with your hand for a few minutes to get a smooth and consistent texture.

  • Garnish - Any grain and/or a nice colorful stir-fry would go perfectly with this recipe.


Easy - 14 patties - 20 minutes
  • 280 g Firm Tofu

  • 1 cup Fresh Coriander, chopped

  • 5 Garlic Cloves, minced

  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper

  • 45 g Oat Flour

  • ½ Onion, chopped

  • 1 Medium Carrot, grated

  • Oil for cooking


  1. In a medium bowl, crumble the tofu with your hands.

  2. Add all the remaining ingredients and knead well.

  3. Form the patties by making approximately 14 equal sized balls, then flatten with your hands.

  4. Heat some oil in a medium sized skillet over medium heat. Place the patties onto the skillet and use a spatula to press down slightly. Pan-fry until cooked through and crisp on the outside.

  5. Enjoy!
