Magic Dates

My mom has always loved dried fruits, including dates, while we used to dislike them! I remember the only dried fruit I liked was pineapple. But when I finally dared to really try dates a few months ago, I found them, more or less, less disgusting. Then I saw this post on Instagram and it made me hungry immediately. The picture showed this date filled with peanut butter with some chocolate on top. And that's when I knew I had to like dates to make this recipe. So I tried the recipe and the whole mixture was as delicious as it looked. Now, if someone asks me if I like dates, I have to say yes. ;)

Try to use thicker peanut (nut/seed) butter.

Magic Dates Ingredients

On this post we give you a lot of variety because you really can choose which combination you like the best. If you at least have some nut or seed butter on hand you are fitted!

  • Nut Butter - Nowadays there are so many nut butters available so just choose which one you like best.

  • Seed Butter - Same with seed butter, you choose!

  • Dates - Of course! They hold everything together and give this snack the perfect sweetness.

  • Dark Chocolate - This is optional but highly recommended because obviously it looks amazing and secondly it gives this whole creation its perfect bitter-sweetness!

Magic Date Tips

  • Decide - Choose whether you prefer a nuttier taste and therefore use any nut butter you want, or whether you would rather use a seed butter.

  • Topping - Be creative! Drizzle sesame on top or coarse sea salt or try something entirely new!

  • Size - To be honest, how many dates you can get out of this recipe is entirely up to you. When you want 10 magical dates then use 10 dates, for example.

  • Medjool Dates - Recommended for their larger size and their soft, chewy texture.

Ingredients

Easy - 10 stuffed dates - 5-10 minutes
  • 10 Dates (Medjool dates recommended)

  • 1 tsp to 1 tbsp Nut/Seed Butter for each date

  • ¼ cup Dark Chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Use a knife and slice each date open lengthwise (if you are using dates that still contain their pit, remove them).

  2. Scoop a heaped teaspoon inside each date.

  3. Drizzle chocolate on top or use any topping you like.
