Almond Balls

Almond butter is something I have only just come to like a couple of months ago. But now that I have tried it, I absolutely love it. It is so much fun to figure out recipes or snacks that include almond butter. It has a mild, slightly sweet flavor and a nice creamy texture that's thick enough to dip in apple wedges or, like in this case, form into power balls. However, that is not the only reason we like these balls. They are seriously super quick, very easy and only really use two main ingredients: almonds and dates. So if you are looking for a way to change up your snack plate, try these!

Almond Balls Ingredients

  • Almonds - Of course you need almonds for this recipe, but you need them ground (i.e. almond flour) and as a paste (almond butter).

  • Dates (pits removed) - You can either buy date puree or make it yourself like we did.

Almond Balls Tips

  • Date Puree - Making your own date puree is easy. All you need are dates and some hot water. Then you can either use a fork or work with your hands to mash up the dates.

  • Cover - We covered our almond balls in a spice cinnamon mixture but using only cinnamon or cocoa powder is just fine.

Ingredients

Easy - 8 balls - 10 minutes
  • ⅓ cup Almond Butter

  • 4 Dates + 1 tbsp Hot Water

  • 1 tbsp Almond Flour

  • 1-2 tbsp Spiced Cinnamon Powder

Instructions

  1. To make the date puree, take a small bowl and mix the hot water with the dates. Then, using either a fork or your hands, try to press them together until you have an even texture.

  2. Stir in the almond butter and flour and combine properly.

  3. Form into roughly 8 balls and roll into the cinnamon powder.
